Hoarding is a very unique yet very personal issue that thousands of Americans live with everyday. Total Decon has worked extensively with Adult Protective Services as well as local health departments to help remediate extreme living conditions for our families and friends all around Texas. Hoarding has many different levels, which must be addressed to properly decontaminate a scene. Total Decon will evaluate every clients needs and with the client make the best plan of action possible.
First Level; is a basic trash out. Primarily trash, dishes, fastfood wrappers, animal waste, personal items etc..., TDI goes in removes all trash and helps the client clean and organize their belongings. Some clients maybe disabled or depressed and just need a little assistance to get back on their feet.

2nd Level; is extended time trash out. The same thing as a basic trash out, but here we also find the begining of trails, stacking, feeding rodents, human waste, rotten food, reproducing roaches and other types of insects. This situation can begin to cause big problems for the client and their neighbors. TDI will work with the family or the client to help with decontaminating personal belongings. Once personal items are secure TDI will go after the root of the problem. Cleaning and decontaminating the entire affected residence.

3rd Level Hoarding or Hoarder Syndrome; Here the problem can really go two ways. I have seen well organized hoarders that have trapped themselves into small confined living quarters. These hoarders keep everything "just in case" Lot's of older clients that may ahve fallen on hard times in their lives.
Then you have gross filth hoarding. Normally, caused by mental illness. These situations can consist of rodents nesting and breeding in living quarters. Generations of roach eggs stuck to walls, 5 years of human waste in the restroom, animal urine on cabinets and counters. Most of the time we will have very defined pathways and "clean" stacked items in a hoarding cleanup job. These jobs are normally under the supervision of a medical professional or APS.
